Sports Ethics Fellows

Each year the IIS selects a diverse group of individuals from various academic and athletic fields to serve as Sports Ethics Fellows. These outstanding individuals write and conduct research on the contemporary issues of ethics and sportsmanship in today's society and assist with the expansion and promotion of National Sportsmanship Day.

The 2005 Sports Ethics Fellows are:
  • Bill Barney, Principal of the Morgan School in Clinton, Connecticut and Chairman of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference's Board of Control.
  • Kim Carson, athletic director at Lincoln Southwest High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.
  • John Gray, Principal at Barrington High School in Barrington, Rhode Island.
  • Joyce Seymour, The Jefferson County, Kentucky representative on the National Girls and Women's Sports Foundation.
  • Laura Haase, Athletic Director at Alameda High School in Lakewood, Colorado.
  • Karl Kiefer, Retired football coach at Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Mike Murray , Assistant baseball coach and sociology teacher at Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia.
  • Don Patrick, Athletic director at Newton-Conover High School in Newton, North Carolina.
  • Martha Slack, Retired athletic director at Massena Central High School in Massena, New York and a member of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Sportsmanship Committee.
