BECOMING A 2010 NSD PARTNER
2010 NATIONAL SPORTSMANSHIP DAY

On Tuesday, March 2, 2010, The Institute for International Sport will celebrate the 19th annual National Sportsmanship Day. When we founded this program in 1990, we had no idea that it would grow into what many consider to be the largest sportsmanship initiative in the world. Last year, National Sportsmanship Day was celebrated in over 14,000 schools in all 50 states and in many foreign countries.

A principal goal for 2010 is to develop a group of distinguished “National Sportsmanship Day Partner’s”. The role of each partner is simple – but vitally important:

  • At any time from January 15 – March 1, each partner will be asked to send an email or letter to your membership/constituents. The email/letter (which the Institute for International Sport will be pleased to draft) will simply state the history of National Sportsmanship Day, and the importance of active participation in the 2010 program. The letter will then drive the reader to the 2010 National Sportsmanship Day website, which will contain all of the needed information to effectively celebrate the day – either on March 2 or at some other time during the 2010 year.
  • Each partner will also be asked to make note of your participation in the partnership on your website, and to link your website with the National Sportsmanship Day website.

Formal Announcement
In February, the Institute for International Sport will issue a major press release on the 2010 National Sportsmanship Day Partnership. We will also provide strong acknowledgement and appreciation to each partner on our website.

Click here for a partnership form. As you will note on the form, you may mail, fax or e-mail the form back to me. We at the Institute for International Sport would be honored to have your distinguished organization be part of the NSD Partnership '10 Program.

If you have any questions, contact Kim Kennedy at kkennedy@internationalsport.com.

P.S. The Partnership Program is open to any sports league or sports association. If you represent an individual team, please contact your league director or commissioner, and urge him or her to join the partnership.
