"The finest sports novel in the last two decades." - WHDH Boston Radio Review

“This novel evinces the same kind of authenticity that made Tom Wolff’s “Bonfire of the Vanities” a best seller. A reader can tell that the author is intimately familiar with his subject. I loved it!” - Bill Reel, New York Daily News

“The book examines many of the abuses with which we have all grown too familiar. But it does so with an abiding affection for the game that is evident from the first chapter. The title is illustrative of the man’s (Doyle’s) feel not only for the rhythms of the sport, but for its history.” - Joe Gergen, The Sporting News

"'Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?' deals with the moral consciousness of intercollegiate athletics. As in all walks of life, there is good and there is bad. This book lets you decide. The question comes to mind, is it possible to get to the top with integrity? This book provokes you to examine athletics from within." - Jody Conradt, Head Women's Basketball Coach, University of Texas at Austin

"A book for all of those who love the game and sometimes wonder what the inside really looks like and feels like. Dan has a real grasp on basketball and although Jack McHale may be a fictional character, there is a little bit of every coach in him." - Billy Packer, CBS Sports

"...an indictment of the cheating, chicanery and other abuses in college basketball..." - Jack Cavanaugh, The New York Times

"Doyle has performed a service to the sport by exposing the mean streaks of college basketball and offering hope for the future. Some day this book will be required reading in our schools." - Jeff Davis, The Fresno Bee

"The plot is perfect and Doyle's description of game situations provides the type of insight that typical fans are never privy to. This novel ranks right up there with John Feinstein's 'Season on the Brink'." - Peter Vescey, The New York Post

"'Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?' is a prototype of the daily sports page of your local paper. The novel strikes at the heart of existing problems for a university, the NCAA, and law enforcement groups. This book will enable you to relate your personal feelings with reality. A must for sports nuts." - Bill Raftery, CBS Sports

"Dramatic and suspenseful... I found this portrayal of the human spirit through a basketball team - a microcosm of America - totally absorbing. This is a must for every family-oriented sports fan." - Larry O'Brien, Former Commissioner, National Basketball Association

"'Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?' is the most thought provoking book on sports since James Michener's 'Sport in America.' Dan Doyle may very well do for the development of honesty and values in collegiate sport, what Ben Johnson did for insuring that future Olympics will be drug free." - Dr. Robert Rotella, Sports Psychologist, University of Virginia

A Special Mention Regarding "Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?"

In 1992, at the Casa Rossi Restaurant in Rhode Island, Dan Doyle was approached by Rhode Island educator, Don Hill. Mr. Hill asked Dan if he would be willing to say hello to a colleague. Mr. Hill then introduced his colleague, who identified herself as a grandmother of a squad commander in Desert Storm. The grandmother related that she had bought "Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?" and had sent it to her grandson. Her grandson reported back that he had read the novel and then shared "Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?" with each of his 22 member squadron. "Every member of my grandson’s squadron read the book and told my grandson that ‘Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?’ was a major factor in keeping their morale high under extremely difficult circumstances."
