Development: Giving to the Institute
"I know of no other non-profit in America whose reach, reputation and consistent level of excellence transcend its budget quite like the Institute for International Sport. Donors always tell me how much they appreciate how far their dollar goes with our organization." Russell Hogg, Chair, Institute Board of Directors, former CEO MasterCard International.
Dear Friend:
Since our founding in 1986, a common theme from Institute for International Sport donors is the positive and tangible impact of their Institute donation. The Institute has established an international reputation as an organization that is managed wisely and whose ideas and programming are as powerful as they are fiscally prudent. If you are interested in your philanthropy truly making a difference, please review the philanthropic options listed below. As we head to the World Youth Peace Summit in 2011, our objective is to initiate an endowment program which will include the naming of the Institute as well as the endowing of various Institute programs. Both of us and our families are privileged to be part of this project through our endowing of the Hassenfeld-Hogg Center for Sports Leadership.
We hope you will consider becoming an Institute donor. Please be assured that you will be supporting an extraordinarily creative and impactful organization that is, in our judgment, clearly the finest sports education initiative in the world – one that benefits literally millions of young people on an international scale.
Sincerely,
Alan Hassenfeld Chair, Hasbro, Inc. Chair, Scholar-Athlete Games |

The Board of Directors of the Institute for International Sport (IIS) has approved a naming opportunity for an individual or family, i.e., the (name of individual or family) Institute for International Sport. The donor will provide an endowment gift that will ensure that the important work of the IIS continues into perpetuity. The goal of this naming opportunity is three-fold: to assure the continuous administration of existing programs; to enhance and expand existing programs; and, to add new programs which will further IIS goals. For information on this special opportunity, contact Dan Doyle at (401) 874-7539 or ddoyle@internationalsport.com

The Center for Sports Parenting has become one of the most important parenting resources in America. The Center provides parents in need of advice on sports parenting issues the opportunity to email their questions to the Center for Sports Parenting and receive answers from high-level experts representing a variety of areas of sports parenting. Experts include acclaimed coaches, psychologists, physicians and athletic administrators. The future of the Center for Sports Parenting will encompass widespread application of many of the principles that appear in Dan Doyle’s forthcoming “The Encyclopedia of Sports Parenting,” which will be published in two volumes. Volume I will be in bookstores in November 2007 and Volume II will be in bookstores in early 2009.
