2008 NATIONAL SPORTSMANSHIP DAY

The 18th annual National Sportsmanship Day will be celebrated on March 4, 2008 in more than 14,000 schools throughout the United States, as well as in countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, India, Australia and Bermuda. Jackie Joyner-Kersee, famed Olympic Gold Medalist, will serve as Chair of the 2008 National Sportsmanship Day Program.

A Key Objective for National Sportsmanship Day ’08: Sports Parents being true models of good sportsmanship! Dan Doyle’s The Encyclopedia of Sports Parenting contains a three chapter section on sportsmanship, as well as a chapter on “Parent Attendance & Behavior at Games.”
