Sports Ethics Fellows

Each year the IIS selects a diverse group of individuals from various academic and athletic fields to serve as Sports Ethics Fellows. These outstanding individuals write and conduct research on the contemporary issues of ethics and sportsmanship in today's society and assist with the expansion and promotion of National Sportsmanship Day.

The 2000 Sports Ethics Fellows are:
  • Grant Hill - Five-time All-Star with the Detroit Pistons, and former All-American at Duke.
  • Chris Spielman - former Cleveland Browns linebacker and four-time Pro Bowl player.
  • Jennifer Rizzotti - head women's basketball coach, University of Hartford, and member of the WNBA Houston Comets.
  • Carol Anne Beach - assistant director of athletics, Mount Holyoke College, MA.
  • Nancy Blank - head women's basketball coach, Johns Hopkins University, MD.
  • Bill Bradshaw - athletic director, DePaul University, Chicago, IL.
  • Liz Garger - chief operating officer, Sanex WTA Tour, Stamford, CT.
  • Mark Newlen - former member of the University of Virginia basketball team (1973-77) and presently physical education teacher and coach at the Collegiate School, Richmond, VA.
  • Kim Record - associate athletic director, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.
  • Jerry Sandusky - former defensive coordinator/linebackers coach, Penn State University, PA.
