All-American School Award

As part of National Sportsmanship Day, the Institute for International Sport has established an All-American Sportsmanship School Award to honor schools that have exceptional sportsmanship programs. All schools such as elementary, middle, high school and college which participate in National Sportsmanship Day will be eligible to submit an application for the award.

CRITERIA FOR ALL-AMERICAN SPORTSMANSHIP SCHOOL AWARD

To be considered for this award, a school must submit proof of the following criteria:
  • Participation in the Institute for International Sport's "National Sportsmanship Day"
  • A sportsmanship program that the school adheres to, which includes some or all of the following:
    • Codes of conduct
    • Promotional strategies (e.g. speakers on sportsmanship, media, etc.)
    • How strategies are disseminated to parents, coaches, athletes and fans
    • How the program interacts with elementary, middle schools and youth organizations (such as the Institute's "Team Sportsmanship" program)
    • Methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the sportsmanship program
    • Other effective sportsmanship initiatives, if any, administered by your school
The Institute for International Sport will present a banner to those schools chosen as All-American Sportsmanship Schools.

All-American Sportsmanship Schools will also be listed on the Institute for International Sport's website in the National Sportsmanship Day section.
