Institute Partnership Opportunities

The Institute for International Sport is frequently contacted by individuals or organizations who wish to administer Institute programming in their locales. The majority of individuals/organizations express interest in one of the following Institute programs:

  • Scholar-Athlete Games
  • Renaissance Games
  • National Sportsmanship Day (If you are interested in registering your school only for National Sportsmanship Day, click here. If you are representing a foreign country or foreign institution interested in large scale administration of National Sportsmanship Day in your country, please read on.)

Any individual or organization interested in such collaboration must complete the following procedures:

  • Step I: A letter of interest should be mailed or emailed to Jerry Creamer.

    • Email: jcreamer@internationalsport.com
    • Address:

      Institute for International Sport
      P.O. Box 1710
      3045 Kingstown Road
      Kingston, RI 02881
      Attention: Jerry Creamer

The letter should clearly address the following issues:
  1. The program or programs the individual/organization wishes to administer.
  2. The financial resources available to the individual/organization (see below).
  3. The dates the individual/organization proposes to administer the event.
  4. Whether program is a one-year, one-time “pilot program” or is being planned as an annual event.
  5. Any other pertinent information.

How the Institute Selects Partners

The Institute bases partnership decisions on the following criteria:

  • The level of expertise of the individual/organization in administering such an event/program.
  • The commitment of the individual/organization to the Institute’s mission. To this end, the individual/organization must make a clear and strong case for their commitment to the Institute’s mission.
  • Background, including references, for the individual/organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate financial and public relations resources in the community or country.

Over the next decade, and particularly following the 2011 World Youth Peace Summit, the Institute will develop a number of partnerships in various locales and countries. In all cases, the Institute is unable to fund actual events with domestic or overseas partners. The financial underwriting falls to the interested individual/organization. As noted, the individual/organization must be able to generate the financial resources to administer any Institute program in a first-rate manner. To protect the “intellectual property” of all Institute-related activities, the events must have Institute sanction, which includes reasonable Institute oversight.
