In January, 2011, we will post a sample 24-hour span at the 2011
World Scholar-Athlete Games.
What follows is a sample 24-hour span at our last "Games",
the 2008 United States Scholar-Athlete Games.

A SAMPLING OF AN EXTRAORDINARY 24-HOUR SPAN AT THE
2008 UNITED STATES SCHOLAR-ATHLETE GAMES

Sunday, June 29th at 7:30 pm: Famed environmentalist Claes Nobel of the Nobel Peace Prize family addresses the scholar-athletes and scholar-artists in the keynote speech on the environment.

Monday, June 30th at 9:15 am: Sandy Padwe, Dean Emeritus of the Columbia School of Journalism chairs the US Scholar-Athlete Games "Ethics in Journalism" panel. Featured panelists will include the likes of Rob King, Editor-in-Chief of ESPN.com. The topic of conversation will be the media’s coverage of the Duke Lacrosse case.

From 11-4 pm: The scholar-athletes and scholar-artists will participate in their special activities.

From 4-5 pm: The scholar-athletes and scholar-artists will participate in our very popular "divertissement", a program that offers scholar-athletes and scholar-artists a number of "fun options" ranging from activities in the Student Union to pick-up basketball games to book readings by authors under the tents.

7:30 pm: Vint Cerf, one of the true founding fathers of the internet and recent recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor accorded an American civilian, addresses the scholar-athletes and scholar-artists on technology, the internet and ethics.

All in a 24 hour span! There is simply no youth event in the world like the Scholar-Athlete Games!
