SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE 2011 WORLD SCHOLAR-ATHLETE GAMES
| 7:00-8:30AM: | Breakfast. |
| 8:45AM: | Arrive in Gampel Pavilion for morning Plenary Session. |
Morning Plenary Session includes:
- Announcements.
- Review of schedule for the day.
- Brief performances by Scholar-Artists.
- Introduction of morning Theme Day speaker.
| 10:00AM: | Following the conclusion of the morning theme day speech, participants break up into small groups. Each group is led by a trained facilitator whose job it is to foster discussion on the Theme Day topic. |
| 11:00AM: | Practices, games, cultural activities. |
| Noon: | Lunch begins, and is served until 1:45PM. Participants are always allotted at least 45 minutes during this "roving lunch" period. |
| 1:15-4:00PM: | Afternoon activities, Sports Competitions and Practices, Arts programming, Cultural programming. |
| 4:00-5:30PM: | "Divertissement!" Divertissement means "a diversion or entertainment". The Scholar-Athlete Games fabled divertissement program involves as many as 10 special activity options for all scholar-athletes and scholar-artists. Options for the 2011 World Scholar-Athlete Games will include:
- Attending a reading by an acclaimed author "under the tent" (a special Scholar-Athlete Games tradition).
- Playing in a "fun game" such as volleyball, touch football, softball or three-on-three basketball.
- Listening to a "warm up performance" by the Scholar-Athlete Games Choir or Symphony.
- "Hanging out" with other scholar-athletes and scholar-artists at the designated "relaxation area", where featured speakers of the day are on hand to engage in discussion and Q & A.
- Work on a series of special technology projects.
- Over a period of four consecutive days, participate in 4 leadership forums, led by Dan Doyle. These forums always draw very large turnouts.

| 5:30-6:45PM: | Dinner. |
| 7:15PM: | Evening Plenary Session- gathering for major address. |
| 7:30PM: | Introduction of major evening speaker. Each speech is delivered by an internationally renowned individual, and includes extensive Q & A. |
| 9:00PM: | Free time. The free time period affords scholar-athletes and scholar-artists several options, ranging from performances by well known bands to other special recreational activities. This free time period is well planned by our activities coordinator – and offers a number of appealing options. |
| 11:15PM: | Back to the dorm. |
| 11:30PM: | Lights out. Our lights out curfew is carefully monitored by dorm supervisors. The Scholar-Athlete Games takes great pride in the excellent behavior of our participants, dating back to the inaugural Games in 1993. This good behavior includes observance of curfew. |
SPECIAL TRAINING ROUTINES
Scholar-athletes and scholar-artists who are engaged in special training routines for their particular sport/cultural/arts activity, and who wish to continue the training routine during the Games, will be accommodated. Special training routine arrangements will be made in April and May, 2011, and involve the Scholar-Athlete Games Commissioner communicating with the scholar-athlete/scholar-artist and his/her coach or supervisor.
