An Historic Dinner on October 28, 2009

On October 28, 2009, the Institute for International Sport hosted the World Youth Peace Summit Ambassadors of Peace Launch Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria. General Colin Powell delivered the keynote address. Here are excerpts from General Powell’s brilliant speech:

• "Tonight is historic."
• "We need more and more events like this, where we bring young people from all over the world together, where we start to connect them."
• "This kind of a program, this Summit, is the kind of a program that will bring them together from all over the world, to talk, to commune, to be taught how to be leaders. To be taught to understand and respect each others cultures and traditions and political background."
• "I am so proud to be a part of this event and I want to thank Dan Doyle for his inspiration and for all the years that he has given to this effort. What a great man Dan Doyle is and he should be so proud of what he has done."
